A Christmas Concert to Remember PDF Print E-mail

One of the finest chamber choirs in the country, Bath Camerata performed in aid of charity on 14 December 2002 at Cranleigh School.

Take the splendid, palatial ambience of Cranleigh School set in a beautiful 200 acre Surrey site, eight miles from Guildford, add to this one of the finest chamber choirs in the country today, namely Bath Camerata, package it all together in the cause of charity and you had a unique Christmas present for youself, your family and friends.

'The Tyme Of Christemas' which was held on Saturday 14th December 2002 within Cranleigh School was a family Christmas concert given by Bath Camerata under the directorship of Nigel Perrin - one of the original 'Kings Singers'. The programme consisted of many, varied pieces both light and more serious in style - some with a Christmas flavour. All proceeds from this concert will be divided proportionately between the Lodges (both inside & outside of Surrey) whose members provided their Lodge name & number when applying for tickets.

Formed by Nigel early in 1986, the choir achieved immediate success by reaching the finals of the Sainsbury's Choir of the Year competition. It has gone on to become one of the foremost vocal groups in the country and has continued to achieve great success and critical acclaim both at home and abroad. The group has won prizes in competitions in Tours (France), Gorizia (Italy), Cork and Sligo (Ireland) and has been heard in broadcasts on BBC Radio 2,3,4, Classic FM and across Canada on CBC. As well as serious music, Camerata also specialises in providing entertaining programmes of lighter repertoire. In 2002, Bath Camerata were named Sainsbury's Adult Choir of the Year, the final being broadcast on BBC Television in December of that year.

In addition to their numerous concerts & broadcasts they have produced a number of CDs which have also won them great reviews. (More information about them can be found at www.bathcamerata.org.uk )

This really was an opportunity not to be missed!
